Das Neue kommt nur mit Mühen auf die Welt. Man muss ihm einen Weg bahnen durch die Widerstände des Gewohnten und Gelernten.
Katrin Lauer aka KATELIN singt auf ihrem Album „Unsee it“ von dem Neuen. Davon, wie man sich aus etwas herauslöst, dass man lange für richtig gehalten hat.
Das Album selbst prägt eine ungewöhnliche SOUNDÄSTHETIK: Akustische Gitarren verweben sich mit analogen Beats und Ambient-Texturen, elektronische Klangwelten treffen auf Singer/Songwriter-Folk und definieren ein neues Genre: ECLECTIC FOLK. In manchen Momenten erinnert dieses Amalgam an die Kooperation von Tina Dico mit dem britischen Ambient-Duo Zero 7. Auch der Triphop von Lamb und die karge Wärme von Anna Ternheim sind nicht weit.
Der ungewöhnliche Sound des Albums entstand durch eine Kooperation mit Produzent und Songwriter JÖRN SCHLÜTER, der sich als Kopf der Bremer/Hamburger Americana- Virtuosen Someday Jacob und durch die Zusammenarbeit mit GRAMMY®-Artists wie Vance Paul (Jack White) und Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Lumineers) einen Namen gemacht hat. Weiterhin schreibt er seit über 20 Jahren für das renommierte Musikmagazin ROLLING STONE.

Katelin
Schon als Kind hatte Katelin den Traum „Opernsängerin“ zu werden. Daraus wurde nichts – auch wenn sie Musik (Pop-Gesang) studiert hat. Bis heute ist sie als Sängerin und Musikerin live und im Studio für andere Künstler tätig.
2018 nahm Katelin bezogen auf ihre eigenen Songs eine Repositionierung vor, die Ausdruck eines Veränderungsprozesses war, der in ihrer eigenen Musik deutlich hörbar wurde. Die Songs des Albums sind in einer Zeit entstanden, die von existenziellen Lebensumständen geprägt war. Veränderungen sind eine unausweichliche Realität des menschlichen Daseins, was aber den Veränderungsprozess selber nicht einfacher macht. Das Album macht Mut, die Einladung für die eigene Reise (Transformation) anzunehmen, die damit verbundene Spannung auszuhalten und dokumentiert Katelins Arbeit als gewachsene Beobachterin, gereifte Künstlerin, Frau und Mutter.
